In 2010 Rockport Marine Yacht Design was approached about the prospect of producing our first home design. It was with some trepidation that we approached this new challenge. We approached the project in much the same way that we approach our yacht project. Ideas were tossed about, pencil sketches prepared and shared, coffee table books dog eared and bookmarked. There was lots of stomping around the site just a few paces from our office. Small and dauntingly public, the location commands an impressive view directly South out over Rockport Harbor and Penobscot Bay beyond.

To say that we were familiar with the site would be an understatement. In the summer months a favorite after work pastime for the crew at Rockport Marine had been to pitch horseshoes from what is now the pantry into the master bathroom. In the end it proved to be a tremendously rewarding process for all involved. The clients report their new home to be just what they hoped. The builder brought the project in on time and on budget and the quality of the finished result exceeded expectations. Designer and builder have entered into the planning stages for collaboration on a new project.
