25′ 1954 Laurent Giles Vertue Sloop
$25,000
Stronghold (ex. Davalon) is a Laurent Giles designed Vertue 48 built by Elkins in Christchurch U.K. in 1954. The Vertue’s are handsome and exceptionally capable compact blue-water cruising boats. Stronghold is a fine example, in exceptional condition following her 2012-2016 refit.
In 2012 her current owner dropped the ballast keel, replaced the sternpost and sternpost knee, the garboards and the keel bolts. Additionally he added bronze floors throughout, refastened along the keel, stem and sternpost (she’s otherwise copper riveted), replaced the dynell deck covering, and stripped the hull to bare wood and refinished.
Stronghold is currently moored in Woods Hole, MA ready for showings. 2017 survey is available upon request.
