64′ John Alden Yawl

Proposed work involves:

Pulling main mast
Reworking rigging
10 coats of varnish on mast
Pulling rudder
Replacing pintels and gudgeons with new bronze castings

The beautiful yawl “Evening Star” was built in 1937 for Frederick Ford of Detroit at the Herreshoff yard in Bristol, Rhode Island.

This top quality yacht was built using only the finest materials and hardware, and proven traditional techniques.

Her restoration began in 2011. The transom was replaced and the entire deck frame and deck as well. The hull remains in excellent original condition. All of the hardware and interior trim was carefully removed and stored for re-installation.

Currently installing all topside hardware including spars and booms, combing, winches, traveler for main sheet, coffee grinder, anchor windlass, bow pulpit, running backs, etc. Cabin sole frame and new partial flooring along with interior work and new fuel tanks.
