Elskov’s pedigree is truly exceptional as she was designed and built by they very best. She is from the drawing board of Aage Nielsen and built to exceedingly high standards by the Walsted yard in Denmark. Originally built for Bradley Noyes of Marblehead, she was the fourth Nielsen design that he had built, and Elskov offers extraordinary craftsmansip, comfort, sea kindliness and performance. Elskov’s accommodations are spacious, with ample stowage, and superbly crafted and finished in French Walnut. Her keel centerboard design has a separate skeg hung rudder which enhances performance, and Elskov has performed admirably racing as well as serious long distance cruising. She has been yard maintained and professionally upgraded under current ownership since 1998 and some of her more notable cruising includes:

Construction
Built to exceedingly high standards by the renowned Walsted yard in Denmark.Hull is double-planked mahogany copper-riveted to laminated oak frames.  Stem and keel are iroko, the stem is laminated.  Oak floor timbers and custom stainless floor/maststep fabrication.  Buff-colored deck is fiberglass covered plywood, and deck and cockpit are trimmed in bright mahogany.  Cabin roof is constructed of fiberglass over matched boards. Bronze centerboard, wheel/cable/quadrant steering.  White topsides with navy boottop and red bottom.
Engine
1999 Westerbeke 63B, 71 HP 4-cylinder diesel engine.  Fresh-water cooled.  Edson controls at helm.  Engine hour meter shows 3,300 (Summer 2014), fuel gauges on tank.  18″ bronze Max-Prop propeller.  Cruising speed 6 knots.
Tankage
Fuel:  One 70-gallon, one 30- gallon in stainless.Water:  Two 60-gallon tanks in stainless.
Electrical
12-volt system; two 12-volt batteries for start and house.  Balmar 150-amp dual op. alternator, panel has circuit breakers, shore power, Victron battery charger, battery condition indicator, two master switches.  Boat is grounded and bonded.

Owner’s Reflections
“After seventeen seasons, seven significant voyages, and ten “cruises” …, I’m finally beginning to learn a little about seamanship and a lot about friendship. I’m also convinced more than ever that a well-found vessel treated with love and respect returns the favor in many small ways, not the least of which is providing safe shelter and transport in harsh environments. Though ELSKOV is now 45 years old, she remains significantly younger than I am, and still possesses the robust athleticism of middle age. Her hull and scantlings are sound. Her systems are up to date. She is ready to go north again tomorrow.But I am not. I have decided that the time has come to pass on my stewardship to a new and fresher adventurer – one who can appreciate the Neilsen/Walsted pedigree, and one who simply wants a very high quality vessel for short money relative to fiberglass or aluminum.I’ve said this before…, one of the best compliments I have received came on a watch change in the Denmark Strait, when the off-going watch remarked “You know, I’ve never been on a boat before where everything worked!”
